Three Exercises to Do at Work to Prevent Fatigue

Fatigue is something that sweeps in during a work shift and tries to take you down for a nap in the middle of your day. Aside from ingesting caffeine and eating healthy foods, exercise is the best way to stay alert. These are three quick exercises you can try the next time you get tired at work. Get up and do them immediately to avoid letting fatigue win the battle.

Power Walking

Power walking is something you can do even if you work in a tiny office. You can use the space you have to walk around and get your heart pumping a little bit. You'll get an immediate jolt to your system that might charge you up for the rest of the day. Do this whenever you feel a wave of fatigue trying to pull you down into the abyss.

Squats

Squats are excellent exercises for busting fatigue. You'll also get the extra benefit of toning up your legs and your buttocks if you do the squats frequently. You can do them at any time during your day if you work in a private office. The best strategy is to do two reps of 10 squats whenever you start to feel exhausted.

Side Stretches

Side stretches will wake up your brain and get you going as well as any of the other exercises we mentioned. They'll also train your obliques and give you the nice contoured look that you might be seeking. Try doing 10 side stretches on each side the next time you fall victim to the workplace lullaby.

Also, remember to hydrate yourself. Dehydration is one of the leading causes of workplace fatigue, and many people don't drink enough water to prevent it. You should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day, and you should feel refreshed for your entire shift.
